The Service Desk Team is a core team within the business, it’s the first point of contact for our clients, and is heavily involved in the delivery of timely and effective technical solutions. The core focus of the 2nd Line Network Connectivity Service Desk Engineer will be to take ownership and successfully resolve complex technical incidents and requests logged by clients. This will mean investigating issues, troubleshooting and providing solutions, while working in a fast paced environment, and keeping the customer updated at all times. You will also get involved in supporting the underlying infrastructure, and in performing root cause and trend analysis to facilitate proactive incident prevention.

To be considered for this role you must have a proven track record of professional experience providing technical support at a first line level. Experience working in a managed service / datacentre / NOC environment would be beneficial, as would experience working in a shift based environment. As a 2nd line Network Connectivity Service Desk Engineer you will need to have understanding and experience in operational environment equivalent to a 1st line faults desk along with experience in working in a SP/ISP/TelcoCarrier operational environment, CCNA / JNCIA routing and switching experience with having exposure to Fortigate SD-WAN technology, Wifi solutions, Cisco Meraki and LAN switching. As part of the role you will need to have a basic understanding of networking including Firewalls (Palo Alto / Cisco ASA), Juniper/Cisco Routers Switches – troubleshooting and change requests to live customer solutions ability to troubleshoot MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IPSec experience operating NMS systems and a good understanding of ITIL processes.
