Your responsibilities

  • Our Graduate Generation Engineering scheme offers graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of operational power stations and gas storage facilities.
  • The scheme is designed to help develop the core skills and competence needed to establish a solid practical engineering foundation, whilst gaining an understanding of the safety, technical and operational aspects of a power station or an upper tier COMAH facility.
  • We encourage practical learning and you will work closely with our experienced site engineers learning how they think and how they tackle problems through on-the-job training of day-to-day challenges covering general maintenance, outages and projects.
  • We actively promote professional development and fully support all graduates on their journey toward Chartership.
  • You will have a sponsor, your own mentor, training opportunities and graduate buddy & peer group to provide help and advice along the way.

What to expect:

  • A two-year Engineering graduate scheme.
  • Up to four tailored placements with the flexibility to experience these across our UK power stations, gas storage facility or within one of the central teams.
  • Completion of a range of engineering and industrial specific courses and first-class on-the-job training.
  • Ownership of developing your engineering competencies and gaining the key technical, business & personal skills and knowledge needed for your future career.

Your profile

  • You will need (or be expecting) at least a 2:2 (or equivalent) in any STEM subject with particular focus around Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control or Energy related degree.
  • An inquisitive mind and keen interest in applying a hands-on approach to engineering.
  • Ability to drive.
  • An interest in the energy industry including gas storage & power generation and their design, operation, maintenance and technology.
  • Sharp analytical skills, a talent for thinking outside the box, and the ability to work well with others.
  • Be willing to experience a variety of placements across our UK assets.
