You’ll be joining a leading Financial Services organisation providing hands‑on desktop support across a mixed Windows and Linux environment.

You’ll be part of a small, high‑performing IT team responsible for delivering first‑class support to users in beautiful, modern London offices. Around 60% of the business operates on Linux, so you’ll bring solid technical knowledge across both platforms and a proactive, customer‑focused approach to day‑to‑day problem‑solving.

This is a fully on‑site position, ideal for someone who enjoys working face‑to‑face with users and providing dependable, professional support in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second‑line desktop support across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network‑related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Support core business applications and user account administration.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to relevant teams where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records in service management systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate clearly with users at all levels.

Skills you’ll need

  • Proven experience in desktop support within Financial Services or another professional environment. Ideally a trade floor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (Ubuntu or similar).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and general network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a busy office environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting trading or front‑office users.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation in Linux environments.
  • Hardware deployment and imaging experience.
