Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Trauma & Orthopaedic (T&O) Therapy and multi-disciplinary teams at Royal Derby Hospital (RDH). In this vital role, you will work flexibly across trauma and elective wards, providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

As a Senior OT, you will conduct advanced Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment for inpatients recovering from trauma or elective procedures. You will also play a key role in discharge planning to support timely and efficient patient discharges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment to inpatients post-trauma and elective procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists, to provide holistic care.
  • Provide expertise in discharge planning to ensure smooth and timely patient transitions.
  • Manage a varied caseload, delivering therapy to patients with diverse needs.
  • Deliver therapy in a fast-paced, acute inpatient setting.
  • Monitor patient progress and provide appropriate interventions to support recovery and rehabilitation.

Required Experience:

  • Recent experience working in an acute inpatient Trauma & Orthopaedic setting.
  • Proven experience in discharge planning and managing a caseload of patients requiring complex discharge solutions.
  • Ability to provide advanced clinical assessments and tailored treatment plans.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of specialized therapy techniques for trauma and orthopaedic patients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
