Archer Recruitment have partnered with an independent consultancy firm specialising in cost management, project management, and contract administration for residential developer clients. The company are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects in Student Accommodation, Build to Rent, Retirement Living and Co-Living sectors. The company has a modern office in the heart of the City of London, a close knit team with a wealth of industry experience, and there is flexibility for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Assess and manage project variations and change control processes.
- Prepare valuations, progress reports, and final accounts.
- Negotiate contracts and procurement strategies.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects remain on budget and schedule.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MRICS qualification or working towards RICS accreditation (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of standard contract forms such as JCT and NEC.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
