Head of Finance Operations (City of London)

Head of Finance Operations | Private Equity, Recruitment Services.

Renumeration | £75k-£85k + 10%

Location | Central London, permanent, full-time position. Hybrid working (office 2x days per week).

The Opportunity:

A high-growth, Private Equity-backed recruitment business, with a turnover of circa £30m and strong EBITDA performance, is seeking an exceptional Head of Finance Operations to join its London-based finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this newly created role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence and supporting a business-wide transformation initiative. The Head of Finance Operations will take full ownership of transactional finance, lead a capable team of professionals, and play a critical role in professionalising and streamlining core financial processes.

The Role:

• Lead and develop the transactional finance function (O2C, P2P, AP/AR), embedding best-in-class processes and controls.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, with approximately 75% of the role focused on core accounting and finance operations.
• Drive transformation across the finance function, supporting the integration of four business practices into a unified platform.
• Play a lead role in the implementation and optimisation of systems, including Salesforce (CRM) and Access Dimensions (cloud accounting).
• Standardise and improve billing processes, contributing to increased automation and efficiency.
• Champion the introduction of a customer self-service portal and reduce reliance on manual financial processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support wider business change and ensure finance operations scale with business growth.

The Requirements:

• Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven track record in transactional finance leadership within a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within a recurring revenue or subscription-based business model is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering finance systems implementation and transformation projects.
• Comfortable leading through change and influencing stakeholders across the organisation.
• Hands-on, detail-focused, and commercially aware.
