My Client was founded in 2006 with a passion for creating better ways to invest. Since then, their European business has grown in terms of product set and AUM. Today they are the biggest independent ETP provider globally and offer one of the most innovative ranges of ETPs, covering commodities, currencies, equities, and fixed income.
My Client is seeking a Product Structurer based in London or Munich. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining My Client's product suite by sourcing and validating new product ideas across a variety of asset classes and managing the product life cycle from product design to launch and ongoing product enhancements. The candidate will also be instrumental in helping clients and other internal and external stakeholders understand product strategies and structures.
Key Accountabilities and Scope- Source research and validate product ideas
- Conduct extensive research on product ideas and investment strategies across all asset classes
- Be informed on capital market fundamentals, economic outlook, major events and potential impact on market as well as general innovation and trends in asset management
- Build concise business case for ideas, presenting for approval in internal forums
- Drive product structure innovation
- Be familiar with different investment wrappers and their differences relative to ETPs in terms of mechanics and strategies delivered
- Be familiar with regulatory and tax environment in relevant markets and asset classes and be able to recommend appropriate product structures and wrappers
- Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to negotiate terms and draft and structure product documentation
- Negotiate terms and pricing for swap agreements with investment banks
- Be a central point for answering product structure and return profile related questions
- Review performance of products versus competition and to clientβs satisfaction
- Explain investment strategies to sales, marketing as well as investors in face-to-face presentations and written materials
- Assist with queries from Research, Sales and Management teams
- Assist in the management of the product life cycle from sourcing ideas, through to validation, design, launch, and through to ongoing maintenance and continuous enhancement of existing products
- Identify potential improvements to the existing product platform from a strategy, positioning, or structuring perspective and ensure these are prioritised accordingly
- Enhance processes and internal tools so team members can effectively manage the product life cycle for broad platform and particularly the idea pipeline
- Develop and maintain project plans for product related projects
- Facilitate communication across project teams by leading regular project meetings
- Follow up on milestones and target delivery dates
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders and keep management informed of progress
- Work with data to manipulate and help automate reporting on ESG, using excel, SQL, VBA, Python etc where suitable
- Identify and highlight opportunities for improvement across all areas of engagement
- Degree level education
- Strong experience in a product development, product management or structuring role in asset management or investment banking
- Strong quantitative background, with working knowledge of excel, SQL, VBA, Python as a strong preference
- Breadth of asset class experience (Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, FX, derivatives and structured products) desirable
- Familiar with project management tools
- Self-starter with ability to equally operate independently and in a team
- Reliable, diligent, exceptional attention to detail, able to work under tight time frames and balance multiple priorities without compromising accuracy or deadlines
- Analytical and strong planning and organisational skills
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, team-based environment with a high degree of individual autonomy
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with a can-do attitude
