An established solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) Independent Power Producer (IPP) is seeking a Grid Connection Manager to oversee and manage the connection of renewable energy projects to the electricity grid. This role is crucial in securing and optimising grid connections, liaising with network operators, and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grid Connection Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for securing and managing grid connections for solar and BESS projects.
- Technical & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all connection applications meet UK electricity regulations, grid codes, and technical standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), National Grid, regulators, and project partners to secure connection agreements.
- Application & Contract Management: Submit grid connection applications, manage contractual agreements, and oversee technical submissions.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth grid integration.
- Financial & Risk Management: Assess grid connection costs, track budgets, and mitigate risks associated with connection delays or constraints.
