We have a great role for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join a leading and highly successful streetwear brand. With a strong understanding of garment construction and great organisation skills, you will work on the men’s and womenswear collections. You will assist with the product life cycle, ensuring that the initial design concept is successfully translated into a product that can be effectively communicated and meets the customer's needs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Accepting and logging all incoming samples as they arrive from couriers.
- Ensure all samples received are measured and update workbook with findings prior to the fit session.
- Check garments are correct to the request e.g. is the proto as per the design sketch sent? Are the comments actioned from previous fits? Are the samples received correct for fabric quality, print placement, colour and trims?
- Assist GT / Senior GT garments in fitting sessions to ensure accurate notes are taken with supporting photos and highlight any discrepancies.
- Fit comments to be updated in workbooks with detailed comments/diagrams and supporting images to send to suppliers accurately.
- Maintain all sealer samples are correctly tagged and labelled, ensuring correct photo approved sample is placed on rail and remove rejected for sample sale. All past season approved samples to be archived.
- Ensure the internal PLM system (Airtable) is always updated.
- Assist in critical path chasers to suppliers and ensure Airtable updated accordingly.
- Assist in regular QC checks (product deemed high risk as well as regular product).
- Call in samples to QC checks for any monthly high returns.
- Assist in returns, sending approved production samples to warehouse.
- Work alongside customer care for any urgent queries regarding your product area.
- Maintaining a neat and tidy, efficient studio, that provides an optimal workflow.
- Assisting Social teams to organise samples prior to photoshoot.
Requirements:
- Fashion or garment-related degree, or similar, preferred.
- Some practical industry experience, essential.
- Computer literate and proficient on Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator.
- Works well under pressure.
- A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively independently and in a team under pressure in a demanding fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
- Must have an interest in fabric development and garment manufacturing.
