About the RoleAs an Electrical Vehicle (EV) Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting new product development, vehicle testing, and technical issue resolution. You will be responsible for maintaining the CAUK vehicle fleet, providing training for dealership technicians, and assisting dealerships with troubleshooting and problem-solving. This role also involves working with hazardous voltage systems, requiring a strong understanding of EV technology and safety protocols.RequirementsAt least two years of technical experience working with electric vehicles (EVs), including hazardous voltage drive and battery systems. This experience may come from working at a vehicle test site, an automotive manufacturer, or a vehicle service centreMust be qualified to work on electrical systems, with certification obtained through dealer service training, an independent training provider, or an accredited courseIMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing, and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components, or an equivalent qualificationFull, valid driving licenceDuties & ResponsibilitiesVehicle instrumentation for testing, development, and diagnosticsServicing, repairs, and upgrades of CAUK development vehiclesFault diagnosis on vehicle powertrains and test cell equipmentCollecting test data and conducting initial analysis and interpretation of resultsLeading testing activities and collaborating closely with project teamsOwnership of test data output and reporting findingsContributing to advanced testing projects, including vehicle development initiativesAdhering to safe working practices, including compliance with Electrical Permit to Work systemsConducting road vehicle tests as requiredSupporting dealerships in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issuesAct as a Changan vehicle model dealership technician trainer, becoming a model expert through in-house training. Travel to Changan China may be required for training and knowledge transfer.
