IT Support Engineer – Desktop & Infrastructure (5+ yrs exp.)
Location: Aberdeen (Hybrid)
Setup: Daily rate contract inside IR35 through umbrella
Duration: Initial contract until 31st December 2025
We’re seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line support across desktops, laptops, AV/meeting room tech, printers, and business-critical applications. This is a hands-on role supporting Windows environments , but a broad understanding of LAN/WAN , server infrastructure , and network troubleshooting is essential for resolving complex issues and coordinating with 3rd line and global IT teams .
You will liaise with business users to interpret needs, offer training, and promote effective use of approved IT technologies, including Office 365 , SharePoint , and mobile/remote access solutions. You’ll also support engineering applications , managing installation, licensing, and user queries in coordination with international support teams.
Key technologies include:
- Windows OS , Microsoft Office , Active Directory , O365 , SharePoint , follow-me printing , and wireless LAN .
- Infrastructure and monitoring tools for servers, networks, and backups .
- Working knowledge of ticketing systems , issue escalation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Your responsibilities include maintaining documentation (asset inventories, support contracts), vendor coordination (e.g., RMA reporting), and ensuring compliance with global IT standards.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in IT support within mid-to-large organisations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Microsoft certifications preferred.
- Basic knowledge of engineering/technical software .
- Proactive, analytical, and team-oriented.
