The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Price Management team are the custodians of all knowledge around price for our customers. They maintain current records as well as future projections and link the element of price across all of our other teams. They ensure all systems are maintained and contact accurate data to enable all teams to carry out their duties. They are also responsible for the completion of certain financial reports including budgets for our customers. This position will be responsible for the management of key customers and their complex flexibly energy supply contracts. As part of this role, you will seek to understand all tariff charges across power, gas and water commodities, understanding their impact on billing and our customers, and ensure our Energy system is updated to reflect the charges accurately. You will drive continual improvement across the team and strive for exceptional customer service through the highest standard of service delivery.
Main duties
- Support our customer's energy spend on both fixed and flexible energy contracts, utilising tools to assess and manage volume and cost.
- Take the lead for the Energy team and our customers in relation to all aspects of Price, including Non commodity charges, Industry charges, supplier tariffs and reconciliations covering all utilities.
- Analyse complex financial models for customers and provide actionable insights to both internal and external teams.
- Interpret both flexible and fixed price contracts within our internal systems making sure that all systems are fully aligned.
- Develop analytical models including development of algorithms in Matlab and other systems to ensure efficiency and governance of customer outputs.
- Collaborate with the trading desk in the analysis of risk management performance, supplementing with delivery of hedging reviews, volume tolerance analysis and other reports as required.
- Work closely with the Invoice Management team to understand and manage outputs from suppliers, understand timescales for tariffs to be received and updated as not to adversely impact billing schedules.
- Manage all PPA price analysis for our customers including generators. Build financial models that cover all aspects of our customers supply including fiscal, on site and PPA consumption.
- Maintain awareness of changes in the Energy market that will impact billing. Seek to understand these changes and research, understand, reflect, and communicate these to internal teams.
- Any other duty which reasonably falls within the scope of this role.
Requirements
- Proven background in working in an energy services team.
- Strong knowledge in at least two of the commodities across power, gas, and water.
- Track record of working with large data sets, with appreciation of data visualisation.
- Knowledge of MOP/DC/DA market.
- An understanding of energy and carbon management terminology, principles, and methodologies.
- Proven ability with Excel and other data analytic tools.
- Understand Electricity Market Reform framework, including the capacity market, CfDs, carbon price support, emissions performance standard and associated topics.
- Understand UK's transmission and distribution frameworks and policy developments for renewable technologies, including existing and new support mechanisms for renewables and interaction with wider market design.
- Strong quantitative, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- High proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
- Programming experience in Matlab, SRSS and SQL desirable.
- Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities amongst multiple tasks.
- Able to communicate externally in a clear and approachable manner.
