Venesky Brown is looking for a Project Manager with Manufacturing experience to start in the Suffolk area, to support our client who have been appointed to deliver off-site-infrastructure works around the Sizewell C structure in Suffolk. Sizewell C (SZC) is one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Job Summary: Sizewell C Project requires Project Managers to drive the delivery of engineering work by the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) and the engineering, procurement and manufacturing of key contracts. The first objective of the role is to sufficiently advance the engineering and secure the supply chain to de-risk the SZC Final Investment Decision (FID), through the maximum possible replication of the HPC detailed design.
Each Project Manager will work closely with especially the SZC supply chain team, the Responsible Designer (RD), the SZC quality team and the suppliers to prepare for and execute the delivery phase of the project. Our Project Managers will focus on one of the following areas:
- Civil Works: the Project Manager role will support the development of the strategy for delivering scope up to the value of £50m to cost, schedule and quality. This post also has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities in accordance with the overall Project schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take a global overview of the nuclear power plant Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs) within their programme, with a view to maximise replication from HPC and prepare for key contracts to be awarded.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of engineering studies by the RD or by key contractors and for ensuring they meet the needs of the SZC project.
- Prepare with the multidisciplinary team specific post-FID contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices and technical specification).
- Drive the implementation of SZC site-specific design changes into the design deliverables in their programme, including contract specifications to enable robust pricing.
- Manage internal interfaces (between contracts and systems) and external interfaces (between programme scopes) to ensure a coordinated approach to design and delivery.
- Manage early engagement with stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to identify obsolescence issues and other risks to replication.
- Manage the technical elements of the procurement process for specific contracts.
- Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP).
- Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
