About the Business:
Our client is a bespoke specialist services provider, primarily to the rail industry, but also within the utilities and local authority sectors. They are based in Rayleigh, Essex, with regional offices located in Kent, Humberside, and Durham, and our RUAS UAV services office in Newport, Wales. They aim to be the preferred supplier for a total ecological, environmental and arboricultural management service to the rail, utility and local authority sectors.
About The Offer:
- Salary - up to max £38k pa (dependant on experience etc.)
- Holiday entitlement - 20 days pa (may be upped to 25 dependant on experience etc.)
- Pension - current company contribution is Government standard, employee may opt out.
About the role:
The Arboriculturist will be responsible for tasks related to all arboricultural and vegetation management operations undertaken within the business. This is a full-time role, requiring flexibility for remote / on-site work. Candidates should ideally be located within 90 minutes travel from our Rayleigh office, as this role has some office-based requirements, but hybrid working will be available.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake tree inspections, surveys and assessments.
- Production of professional reports in relation to:
- Tree health and condition, and decay detection
- Arboricultural risk
- Woodland and hedgerow management
- Arboricultural design and species selection
- Arboricultural inventory surveys
- Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Areas
- Trees in relation to BS5837
- Arboricultural Impact Assessments and method statements
- Subsidence management
- Species identification for the Drone Arb project
- Ability to categorise lineside vegetation accurately
Skills & Experience:
- Level 4 Arboricultural qualification.
- LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification.
- Ability to undertake tree inspections, surveys and assessments, and the production of professional reports.
- Excellent Tree Identification.
- Knowledge of tree health, pests and diseases.
- Knowledge of tree physiology and risk management.
- Willingness to work independently and travel to various locations across our operational footprint.
- Strong IT knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Professional membership of the Arboricultural Association is desirable.
Company will provide all Personal Track Safety and DZEP (Highspeed 1) training, a suitable vehicle and fuel card and all PPE and equipment required to carry out the role. There is a requirement to work across the UK, which may require some overnight stays. Company will provide accommodation for any overnight stays.
