Our client, a large housing provider across the South & South West, is seeking a Damp and Mould Surveyor with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You’ll play a critical role in identifying, diagnosing, and managing damp and mould issues across their housing stock – improving living conditions for thousands of people. As part of this mission, they are growing their specialist property team to ensure homes are free from damp, mould, and condensation issues.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Investigate reports of damp and mould in properties and carry out detailed property inspections.
- Accurately diagnose root causes (e.g., structural issues, ventilation, lifestyle factors).
- Prepare thorough reports and recommend cost-effective remedial actions.
- Manage repair works from instruction through to completion, liaising with contractors, residents, and internal teams.
- Support tenants in understanding how to reduce condensation and maintain healthy homes.
- Maintain clear records in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a building surveyor or repairs surveyor, ideally with damp and mould expertise.
- Good knowledge of building pathology and remedial solutions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage caseloads, prioritise, and work collaboratively.
- Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND in Building Surveying, CIOB/RICS membership or working towards is a plus).
- A full UK driving licence (travel to properties required).
