Financial Crime Lawyer

We are working with a prestigious international law firm to hire a Financial Crime Lawyer based in London. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing and advising on financial crime compliance across a wide international footprint, with a particular focus on AML, sanctions, and other regulatory obligations.The firm is looking for a professional with significant experience advising on financial crime risk within an international law firm or professional services environment. You’ll need a deep understanding of UK AML regulations and familiarity with global sanctions regimes. To be considered, you must have a law firm background and prior experience in a managerial-level role specific to financial crime. The responsibilities will include:Advising on high-risk matters and acting as a senior escalation point for the wider compliance teamLeading audits as part of the financial crime audit programmeDrafting and submitting suspicious activity reports under the direction of MLROsSupporting the development of financial crime policies and risk assessments across jurisdictionsMentoring junior team members and contributing to a high-performing compliance cultureDelivering engaging financial crime training across the businessResponding to global regulatory questionnaires and client requestsMonitoring regulatory developments and adjusting firm-wide compliance processes accordinglyLeading or contributing to various risk and compliance projects as neededThey are looking for someone with strong analytical and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders across the business.This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing and inclusive compliance team in a firm that operates on a truly global scale.
