You’ll work with engineers to ensure layouts meet strict technical and manufacturing standards.ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing PCB layouts in Altium Designer from approved schematicsWork alongside electronics engineers to ensure layouts align with design intentUndertake component placement, routing, and rule checks under engineering directionGenerate and update production data (e.g. Gerbers, BOMs, and placement files)Maintain and update PCB library parts in line with project standardsHelp clarify manufacturing needs with external suppliers and assemblersContribute to the upkeep of design records and process enhancementsSupport configuration control and design change activities for PCB dataAid process improvements in PCB workflows using continuous improvement principlesWhat are we looking for?Hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic EngineeringSome experience with PCB layout software, preferably Altium DesignerCareful, organised approach with a strong eye for detailClear communicator with a team-oriented mindsetDesirables:Practical experience creating PCB layouts used in delivered productsUnderstanding of layout and fabrication standards such as IPC 2221General awareness of design development stages and managing design revisionsExperience liaising with manufacturing partners or contract electronics firmsExposure to alternative design software such as Zuken CadstarBasic knowledge of design-for-manufacture practices and typical layout limitations
