TARCG is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading name in aviation engineering, for the position of Avionics Mechanic. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected engineering team within a cutting-edge aviation environment. This full-time, site-based role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in aircraft modification and maintenance, looking to develop their career in a stable and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will report to the Avionics Lead and be responsible for carrying out aircraft modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and technical data. All work must meet the highest standards of safety and technical compliance.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Precise wiring terminations and loom manufacturing
  • Testing and troubleshooting of avionics systems
  • Removal and installation of aircraft panels, shelves, and components
  • Interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documentation
  • Supporting system validation and fault diagnostics
  • Maintaining excellent tool control and a clean, safe work environment
  • Proactively reporting issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship (preferably in Aeronautical Engineering) or equivalent military background
  • Proven experience in aircraft modification; production experience advantageous
  • Strong working knowledge of avionics systems
  • Excellent hand skills and attention to detail
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
  • Must be able to meet the requirements for UK security vetting
  • Reliable, adaptable, and a strong team player

Training & Compliance:

The successful candidate will be required to have or complete the following Part-145 training modules:

  • Initial and continuation Human Factors training
  • SFAR Phase 1 & 2 (initial and continuation)
  • EWIS Group 1 & 2 (including Group 1 Module G Practical)
  • ETOPS RVSM
