In-house tax positions are very rare - time to pay attention! I am recruiting for a very large NI corporate that is seeking to add to its already established in-house tax team, a new addition to the team that will initially take responsibility for UK & RoI Tax Accounting and Tax Compliance.
This role could be for you if you are a Qualified Accountant or Tax Professional and:
- You have developed a strong base of knowledge in tax and wish to specialise in this area,

The successful candidate will join an established team of 5 led by a highly experienced Senior Manager that takes great pride in supporting and developing their team. This is a highly visible role that will provide a wide range of exposure to business critical projects working in concert with colleagues and external advisors.
The Group Tax Team are responsible for delivering the Groups Tax Strategy through best-in-class tax compliance, efficient tax planning and accurate tax accounting. This is a newly created role suited to someone who is keen to develop the tax technical skills which will be pivotal to keeping the Group on top of new and emerging tax rules and obligations, assessing the impact of any changes, and advising on considerations for key strategic decisions.
Reporting to the Tax Manager, and supported by the Trainees, the Tax Accountant will initially focus on tax compliance and tax accounting for the Groups UK and ROI subsidiary companies and developing business knowledge relative to the Group including engaging with internal finance teams and external advisers. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of UK and ROI internal and external tax reporting to support compliance.
You will assist with the continuous improvement of tax systems and processes in the group and develop relationships with key partners across the Group and externally. The role will suit a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is open to development and challenge and can collaborate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
You will be a self-starter with a proactive, curious and solutions focused approach to your work who will challenge the status quo and look for improved ways of doing things. An ambitious and resourceful candidate will discover a lot of scope and opportunity for this role to develop and evolve including the opportunity to study towards a recognised tax qualification if not already held.
What you’ll need:
- Recognised professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA / ACCA and / or CTA).
- Experience working in a busy tax compliance or accounting environment within a professional team.
- Awareness of UK and ROI taxes and a keen interest in the emerging international tax landscape.
- Proven ability to take responsibility and work to strict reporting and commercial deadlines.
- Demonstrable ability to build relationships with stakeholders through effective, timely and relevant communication.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
