As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor specialising in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects, you play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective solutions. Working closely with our experienced team, you are involved in cost estimation, procurement, valuations, and project support, helping ensure successful outcomes for our clients. Key Responsibilities- Cost Management and Estimation
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for M&E components of projects.
- Support in monitoring and controlling project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in the preparation of bills of quantities and pricing documents.
- Assist in obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support procurement processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Develop knowledge of contracts, particularly relating to M&E works.
- Aid in preparing valuations for interim applications and final accounts.
- Support in identifying and managing variations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist in the preparation of claims and progress reports.
- Work alongside the project delivery team to ensure M&E aspects align with project objectives.
- Conduct site visits to measure works and verify completed tasks.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clarity in project requirements.
- Attend meetings to develop a clear understanding of project deliverables.
- Provide administrative and technical support to senior staff as required.
- Qualifications and Education
- Essential: Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C/9-4, including Mathematics and English.
- A-Level qualifications or equivalent, with a preference for STEM subjects (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, or Economics).
- Desirable: Currently studying or planning to pursue a degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Essential: Work experience or internships in construction, engineering, or related fields (may include part-time or summer roles).
- Basic understanding of the mechanical and electrical industry.

- Experience using PSA pricing software.
