CNC Machinist (Manchester Area)

PE Global is recruiting a CNC Machinist for our oil and gas client based in Middleton, Manchester. The role is an initial 3-month contract and then permanent once the candidate suits the role.Pay Rate: £16.81 (2 shift + 15% shift allowance. Possible 3 shifts + 19% shift allowance)Early & Afternoon: Mon to Thu 06.00-14.00/14.00-22.00, Fri 06.00-12.00/12.00-06.003rd shift = night shift: Mon to Thu 22.00-06.00, Fri 18.00-00.00Responsibilities:Responsible for producing quality parts on CNC machines in a timely, safe and efficient manner.Perform set-up changes, operate and conduct first article inspections on production runs.Load parts utilising overhead lifting equipment, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, de-burring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.Identify problems prior to production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or control media as required.Read engineering drawings, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.Perform any other work related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needsComply with all Quality + HSE policies and procedures.Travel as and when requiredCarry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line managerRequirements:Essential:Time Served apprenticeship within a CNC machinist discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3Operating a variety of CNC machinesFamiliar in working within a high productivity machine shop environment.Manual handling, slinging and liftingHSE awarenessDesirable:ONC/HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.4+ years experienceManual Machining ExperienceMulti Axis CNC Machining ExperienceCNC programming knowledge on Mazatrol and Fanuc controlsPlease note PE Global cannot assist with any sponsorship.
