Are you a skilled Machine Operator looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment? We are looking for a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team and play a key role in maintaining efficiency, safety, and quality in our packhouse operations.
This is a key role in the department reporting to the Packhouse Supervisor. You will ensure the production machines are kept in clean, efficient, audit ready condition.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate and maintain machinery to ensure smooth production.
- Monitor product quality, ensuring all finished goods meet specifications.
- Oversee machine room cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and staff hygiene.
- Manage production schedules, crop rotation, and packaging processes.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
- Complete production records accurately, including cleaning, maintenance, and traceability reports.
- Lead and support staff in the machine packing area, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Work closely with the Packhouse Manager and technical team to resolve quality and operational issues.

Working hours:
You will work 48 hours per week, working 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota basis. Shift times are between 07.00 and 17.30 and will be confirmed on a rota basis. A degree of flexibility will be required.

Watts Farms is a third-generation family run business. We grow fresh produce, which is picked and packed on site, with our head office based in Farningham, Kent. Our production sites are based in Kent, Essex and Bedfordshire and include organic land, polytunnels and modern glasshouses. We are specialist growers, who over the years have developed both growing techniques and varieties to provide our customers with the best quality and flavour. We pride ourselves on quality and service and are passionate about food and ensuring we provide a first-class service to our customers. We meet the requirements of the BRC standard for Food Safety.
