An established and growing business is seeking a Senior Company Accountant / Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day finance function. This is a broad and hands-on role, ideal for a commercially aware accountant who enjoys balancing strategic input with operational delivery. The successful candidate will oversee the finance team, ensure compliance across jurisdictions, and support senior leadership with financial insight and reporting.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring expertise and a proactive attitude to this role. You’ll have:
- Manage monthly management accounts, forecasts, and reporting packs
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure timely reconciliations across ledgers, bank accounts, and payroll
- Ensure full compliance with VAT, PAYE, CIS/RCT, and other relevant tax requirements
- Oversee all aspects of international payroll, ledgers, fixed assets, and banking processes
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support business decisions
- Maintain accurate financial data and documentation across platforms
Your Responsibilities
Always:
- Prepare individual company, departmental, and group-level accounts
- Support short, medium, and long-term cash flow planning
- Monitor and report on project performance and margin protection
- Manage intercompany accounting and ensure accurate consolidation
Often:
- Support the Head of Finance in driving commercial decision-making
- Assist with tax planning and compliance initiatives
- Contribute to the statutory audit process, including preparing audit files
- Collaborate across departments to improve financial systems and processes
Occasionally:
- Respond to HMRC and international tax authority enquiries
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits
- Support insurance reviews and renewal processes
- Review customer and supplier contracts alongside legal partners
Never:
- Be restricted to a narrow or repetitive workload, this is a varied, high-impact role with broad responsibilities across the business
