McLaughlin & Harvey is one of the leading Civil Engineering and Building Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland. We are seeking a Submissions Manager to join our Civil Engineering Pre-Construction Team based at our office in Mallusk. The Civil Engineering department undertakes varied projects with values ranging from £5m to £150m.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work as part of the Submissions team, alongside estimators and the technical team on the preparation of high-quality tender submissions and pre-qualification questionnaires.
- The Submissions Manager will be responsible for the following, however not limited to:
- Contributing to the bid winning strategy
- Reviewing and analysing PQQ/Tender submission requirements to plan and develop the overall response
- Writing, editing, and reviewing responses to PQQ/Tender questions, with support from the technical and estimating teams
- Liaising with internal and external parties to develop methodologies and quality submission responses, including construction team and external consultants
- Coordinating inputs from bid team members to collate and deliver/submit PQQ/Tender returns, ensuring quality and consistency across all documentation in line with company brand guidelines
- Support updates to bid library documentation e.g. case studies, CVs and standard company information
- Preparing for and attending presentations for client interviews
- Creating/updating marketing information
- Attending site visits and participating in PQQ/Tender interviews
- Creating/updating PQQ/Tender information on company IT systems
Qualifications
- Essential
- Minimum of 5 years experience in writing PQQ and Tender responses for Construction or Civil Engineering projects
- 3rd or degree level qualification ideally within a Construction or Engineering related discipline
Experience
- Proven experience in a Civil Engineering role and/or bidding environment
- Experience within a Main Contracting or Consultancy bidding background
- Able to effectively plan own workload and work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong IT and creative presentation skills, high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management and prioritising workload
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Team player
