My client is a popular gastropub in a lovely location, known for its relaxed yet buzzing atmosphere. They serve up delicious food made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, with both a restaurant and a bar. They are looking for a confident Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team and help keep things running smoothly in their busy venue. They will also consider a Duty Manager to support the management team. An independent company with a few venues and great room for growth and future promotion across their sites with full support.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a high-volume fresh food venue; you'll know what it's like to keep things ticking over when it gets busy!
  • Confidence in both the bar and the lounge restaurant areas; you'll need to be happy to jump between both.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team to deliver top-notch service.
  • A real focus on customer service, making sure every guest has a great experience.
  • Ability to stay calm and organised during peak times; it can get hectic, but you'll handle it.
  • Experience with stock control, ordering, and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in hospitality.
  • Previous managerial or senior supervisor experience; you might be a Duty Manager looking to step up or a change of scenery.
  • A passion for food and drink, and an interest in dining trends.
  • Flexibility and adaptability; every day is different.

Job Duties:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the bar and restaurant with the management team, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Leading and supporting the front-of-house team, offering guidance and motivation.
  • Handling customer feedback, resolving any issues, and making sure everyone has a fantastic time.
  • Conducting stock checks and ordering supplies to keep everything in stock.
  • Experience and knowledge of all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service standards, from start to finish.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen and back-of-house teams to keep everything running seamlessly.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Assistant Restaurant Manager: £31,000 - £34,000 per annum (depending on experience) + TRONC (approx. £4,500 per annum)
  • Duty Manager: Up to £30,000 per annum + TRONC (approx. £4,000 per annum)
  • 45 hours per week, 5-day working week
