Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial operations of a leading organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data, maintaining controls over trial balance production, and preparing reports on financial performance. This role requires a strong understanding of market dynamics, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to, monitor and advise on business plans to ensure optimal delivery of results
  • Support the implementation of the Finance strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets
  • Adhere to Finance standards, policies, procedures, instructions and good practice to operate controls, minimise risk and maximise efficiency
  • Perform finance activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Establish, strengthen and develop relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
  • Manage accounting processes within timelines and to the required control standards
  • Produce reports, analyses and management information to inform decision making

What you bring:

  • Strong understanding of Aspen's business objectives
  • Sound working knowledge of gross and ceded premium, claims, expenses, investments and FX processing
  • Good working knowledge of FCA regulations as they pertain to insurance intermediaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly numerate with attention to detail
  • Effective people management skills with experience in delegating outsourced activities
