We are looking for the right person to join our growing team. The role would suit a recent graduate or someone returning to the workplace. The successful applicant will be involved in every aspect of our work, on-site and in the office, on a wide variety of projects. The job holder will provide support and assistance to the Director in providing reports and carrying out investigations on behalf of clients, as well as involvement in projects. The job holder will need to be flexible and available to visit sites as and when required. We support Hybrid working with this role.
KEY TASKS
- Write desk studies, 'Phase 1' reports including conceptual models and qualitative preliminary risk assessments.
- Scope Phase 2 investigations and write Phase 2 reports.
- Develop remediation strategies and write reports.
- Prepare Phase 4 verification reports.
- Visit sites to undertake initial site walk-over as part of a Phase 1 report.
- Collect samples for testing and monitor or record remediation work.
- Hand dig trial pits.
- Monitor works by sub-contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and other members of the project team.
- Assist with general office duties, filing, answering the phone, etc.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities
- Educated to degree level or equivalent for the role.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Able to manage time and meet required deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Maintain technical knowledge of current and future legislation in relation to UK environmental legislation, policy, guidance, and codes of practice.
- Be computer literate and conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other commonly used software.
