Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This role is integral to our engineering department, where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the production of industrial control panels. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure high-quality designs that meet customer specifications and industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer to contribute to challenging projects while developing their skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Documentation: Creating detailed electrical schematic diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical. Producing panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Project Estimation & Planning: Interpreting customer specifications and documentation to develop accurate cost estimates for control panels. Conducting site visits and meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical input.
- Manufacturing & Testing Support: Working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing and troubleshooting electrical issues during assembly.
- Continuous Improvement & Compliance: Keeping up to date with the latest developments in electrical design technologies and industry best practices. Contributing to the improvement of design processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications & Experience: HNC/HND or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in the design and manufacture of industrial control panels. Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and control systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for schematic and layout design. Knowledge of electrical standards (e.g., BS EN 61439, IEC 60204, and UL508A). Experience with component selection (relays, PLCs, HMIs, motor controllers, etc.).
- Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
