Radiological Instrumentation Calibration Technician Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. Package: Β£30,100 – Β£38,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, andlevel of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. AWE is currently recruiting for a Radiological Instrumentation Calibration Technician. This role would suit a skilled Electronic Engineer with a hands-on background eager to work in a calibration environment. In this role, you will be responsible for calibrating, testing, and repairing a variety of handheld radiological detection instruments for our established customer base. As a member of our in-house calibration team, you will receive comprehensive training and have access to continuous self-development opportunities. You will work alongside a versatile and experienced team, enhancing your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following: Engineering Apprenticeship NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in relevant engineering discipline or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 plus industrial experienceA recognised relevant engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, BTEC Level 3 or HNC Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we\’d like you to have experience in some of the following:Working experience in the test, repair and calibration of electronic devicesAbility to follow, review and create test procedures and safety documentationFault finding skills using DVM\’s and scopesUse of Microsoft Office productsExperience in both soldering and de-solderingAttention to detail whilst working with dataExperience of training/mentoring other team membersAbility to work as part of team and on own initiativeFlexible, can-do attitudeConfidence to work in a highly regulated environment Work hard, be rewarded:We ask a lot and set the bar high because our work truly matters.
