ING Corporate Finance is a team of over 200 professionals based in offices across Europe, Asia and the US. Our Corporate Finance franchise offers a strong combination of deep local market knowledge and extensive cross-border and sector-specific expertise. In the UK, we provide integrated financial solutions to ING’s corporate and institutional client base across a broad range of industry sectors, including Energy and Commodities, TMT, Transportation & Logistics and Infrastructure as well as Financial Institutions (“FI”).

The ING FI Advisory team is looking to hire a Vice President in London. The team is responsible for the origination and execution of M&A and other High Value-Added transactions in close cooperation with other teams including DCM and ECM. The team has built a strong track record of high-profile transactions and consists of c. 20 professionals in Amsterdam, London and Singapore with a focus on a number of FI sub-sectors including banks, insurers, fintechs, asset managers, specialty finance and financial services businesses.

In this job you will play an active role in the origination, structuring and execution of transformational transactions for leading financial institutions and related companies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Providing support for the day-to-day activities of the team, including structuring and executing live transactions and supporting origination work and producing marketing materials.
  • Starting own business development and marketing responsibilities with support of relevant senior members of the department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the origination and execution of M&A and capital markets transactions.
  • Execute (approval, structuring and closing) M&A, Capital Markets and other financial transactions for strategic and private equity clients.
  • Maintain active contacts with other departments/disciplines, such as DCM, ECM, Acquisition Finance, ING Group Investments, Financial Markets and FI Relationship Management.
  • Prepare product arrangements/financing requests for complex transactions including financial models.
  • Prepare documents for transaction processing (a.o. legal documents, structuring papers).
  • Have sub-sector alignment, while starting to develop own business and marketing responsibilities with the support of relevant senior members.
  • Direct and manage junior deal team members to achieve the team objectives.
  • Mentor junior staff throughout the course of an origination initiative and the execution of live deals.

Candidate Profile:

Experience / Knowledge

  • Essential: 5-7 years of working experience within an investment banking environment. Similar tenure of hands-on expertise in leading M&A, DCM, ECM and capital structuring projects. Experience within the FI sector highly preferred.
  • Desirable: Knowledge and experience of one or two key sectors that are relevant to the Financial Institutions client base. Strong financial modelling & valuation skills. Additional European language.

Qualification/Education:

  • Essential: Bachelors Degree.
  • Desirable: Masters Degree inclusive of relevant internships / MBA.
