GVC is proud to be assisting an established independent small animal practice in the scenic area of Buckinghamshire in their search for a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgeon. This opportunity offers the perfect blend of modern veterinary healthcare and personalised, client-focused service, within a supportive, friendly, and well-equipped environment.

  • 4-day working week with a fixed weekday off
  • No phone-based out-of-hours – inpatient care only, shared 1-in-8 rota
  • Modern hospital opened in 2023, equipped with:
  • Dedicated orthopaedic theatre
  • Digital radiography and advanced ultrasound
  • Dental suite and endoscopy facilities
  • Separate dog, cat, and exotic wards
  • State-of-the-art cardiology tools

Team:

  • 18 vets, 15 nurses, and a highly capable support staff across 5 sites
  • 15-minute consultations from 8am to 6:30pm
  • Opportunity to operate two mornings per week

What’s on Offer:

  • 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays, with flexibility for unpaid additional leave
  • Generous CPD budget (£2,000+) and 5 CPD days annually
  • Certificate support actively encouraged and funded
  • Accommodation available if required
  • Extra pay for inpatient duties and work outside regular hours (£3,000–£6,000/year)
  • All professional fees covered (RCVS & VDS)

Rota Overview:

  • 1 weekday night duty every other week (inpatient care only)
  • 1 in 12 weekends on-call for inpatient care or consults
  • 8 out of every 12 weekends are completely free
  • Early finish before your scheduled day off
