Global Veterinary Careers are working with a progressive, independent practice in West Midlands, seeking an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join their award-winning team. This is a brilliant opportunity for a vet with a strong medical or surgical interest — especially those with (or wanting to develop) skills in endoscopy or laparoscopy. The practice welcomes applications from vets looking to push their clinical boundaries with full support and access to outstanding facilities.
The Practice: Led by an experienced and supportive owner, this independent practice is known for clinical excellence, innovation, and investing in their team. Recently awarded Best UK Vets 2024, the practice is recognised for both its service and working culture. It’s a referral centre for advanced laparoscopic procedures and both diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, and is equipped with:
- Full laparoscopic and endoscopic suite
- Ventilator and multiparameter monitors
- Laser surgery and therapeutic laser
- In-house lab with rapid cancer diagnostics
You’ll join a talented and friendly team of 4 Vets, 6 RVNs and 10 support staff (including reception, VCAs and admin) in a genuinely collaborative working environment.
The Role:
- Full-time, 4-day working week (8am–6:30pm)
- 1:4 weekend rota (Saturdays, 4-hour shift only)
- At least one fixed surgical day per week
- No out-of-hours or evening work
- Mix of consults, soft tissue surgery and more advanced work depending on your skillset and interest
Ideal Candidate:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Interest in laparoscopy and/or endoscopy (training provided if needed)
- Comfortable working in a team that values communication, CPD, and development
- Bonus if you’re studying or planning a certificate – full support available
