As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to service every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year transformation to modernize our Acquirer solutions to build innovative products, services, and capabilities that will anticipate our merchant and acquiring partner’s needs.
This newly created role of Associate Product Manager will have the exciting opportunity to be part of a key strategic priority for the GMNS business. This team is responsible for evolving the strategic agenda focused on how we are modernizing and transforming our Acquiring products and processes globally. This includes setting the strategy, defining future use cases, ensuring our current roadmap sets us up for success as well as identifying opportunities to provide differentiated value to our Merchants and Partners.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Drive delivery of key strategic projects by creating and maintaining a comprehensive view of the end-to-end plan, including tracking risks and key decisions.
- Develop regular tracking documents that clearly highlight progress vs plan for distribution amongst key stakeholders.
- Continually look to problem solve through innovation, creating solutions to problems that can work in multiple scenarios.
- Responsible for maintaining and continually refining product roadmaps, working to mitigate barriers and re-prioritise accordingly to execute against them.
- Collaborate to ensure market readiness of product releases including preparation and deployment of documentation and training to ensure successful adoption.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An understanding of the payments industry, preferably including merchant acquisitions; a knowledge of Product Management is preferable.
- Highly organized self-starter comfortable with adjusting quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands and working with ambiguity.
- Strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into opportunities for AXP to drive innovative solutions.
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to distil complex topics into clear and concise messages, adapted for the audience appropriately.
- Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence, inspire and drive collaboration and alignment.
- High energy, an optimistic attitude, eagerness to learn, high level of accountability and a good sense of humour.
