About the Role
Our highly successful Funds & Investment Management team in London is currently seeking a Funds lawyer. The team is the largest offshore investment funds team in London and is currently growing. The team services a blue-chip client base consisting of leading European fund managers and their onshore counsel, and combines extensive knowledge and experience of Cayman Islands law with the in-depth strength of a global law firm. The role represents an excellent opportunity to join our Funds & Investment Management team in London and make a significant contribution to our growing practice. The successful candidates will have exposure to some of the best offshore legal work in the market and will work as part of, and be supported by, a highly successful and collegiate team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on providing legal advice on formation, ongoing legal and regulatory compliance, restructuring and termination of different types of Cayman Islands investment vehicles, including hedge funds, hybrid funds and private equity funds.
- Working with a client base that comprises primarily of leading European alternative investment fund managers, and their onshore counsel.
- Engaging in business development activities, being active in the promotion of the firm and taking part in initiatives to take advantage of opportunities for new work.
What You Bring
Applicants should have up to four years post qualification experience as an investment funds, regulatory or corporate lawyer, ideally gained within a top-tier law firm. It is essential that all candidates have a strong academic background, with excellent written communication and drafting skills. The successful candidates will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues, and work well in a team environment.
