Who We Are
At Couchbase, the Web team is focused on delivering seamless, high-performance digital experiences that drive demand generation and brand engagement. As part of the Marketing organization’s Demand Generation team, we own and optimize our web ecosystem to accelerate growth. We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to help build, enhance, and maintain our WordPress-based web properties on WPEngine, ensuring a scalable and engaging digital presence that supports our global marketing initiatives.
What You’ll Do
As a Full Stack Developer on our Web team, you’ll work across the front-end and back-end to develop, optimize, and maintain our marketing websites. You’ll collaborate with SEO strategists, content producers, designers, and analysts to ensure that our web properties are fast, scalable, accessible, and conversion-driven.
- Develop and maintain WordPress-based websites hosted on WPEngine, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
- Manage version control workflows using Git, ensuring efficient collaboration and code integrity across the development team.
- Build custom themes, templates, and plugins to support marketing campaigns and site enhancements.
- Optimize page speed and Core Web Vitals, ensuring SEO and user experience best practices.
- Work with PHP and MySQL to customize WordPress functionality and enhance back-end performance.
- Integrate third-party marketing and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Marketo, Salesforce, etc.).
- Implement forms, tags, and conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility (WCAG), GDPR, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new pages, optimize site navigation, and improve overall user experience.
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, with expertise in WordPress and PHP development.
- Experience working with WordPress page builders (e.g., Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery) and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices, web performance optimization, and Core Web Vitals.
- Familiarity with Git version control and deployment workflows.
- Experience integrating CRM and marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Salesforce, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve WordPress-related performance, security, and database issues.
- A passion for building scalable, high-performing web experiences that drive engagement and conversions.
