We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated PMLD Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and well-resourced special needs school in Greenwich from September 2025. This role is ideal for individuals with a care background or prior experience working with students who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). You'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with highly complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with PMLD
- Assist students with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs
- Support the implementation of tailored learning and therapy plans
- Encourage the development of communication, independence, and life skills
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with PMLD students or in a care setting
- Comfortable with personal care and manual handling
- Calm, compassionate, and resilient approach
- Ability to follow individual learning, health, and care plans
- Strong teamworking skills and excellent communication
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
