We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Learning Support Assistant to join a specialized SEN unit within a welcoming and inclusive school in Lewisham. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with severe autism, ADHD, physical disabilities (including wheelchair users), and those requiring personal care support.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support students with a wide range of complex needs in a 1:1 and group setting
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage independence and engagement
  • Deliver tailored life skills and sensory-based learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff
  • Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all students at all times
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly PMLD and physical disabilities
  • Comfortable with personal care duties
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
