Are you a compassionate and committed support professional looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Learning Support Assistant to join a specialized SEN unit within a welcoming and inclusive school in Lewisham. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with severe autism, ADHD, physical disabilities (including wheelchair users), and those requiring personal care support.
Role Responsibilities:- Support students with a wide range of complex needs in a 1:1 and group setting
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage independence and engagement
- Deliver tailored life skills and sensory-based learning activities
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all students at all times
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly PMLD and physical disabilities
- Comfortable with personal care duties
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
- A supportive and friendly team environment
