We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head of English to join our vibrant and ambitious secondary school in the Braintree area from September 2025. This is a key leadership role, perfect for someone with the vision and drive to lead our English department to continued success.
About the Role:
- Lead the strategic development of the English department, including curriculum planning and assessment.
- Inspire and manage a team of English teachers to deliver outstanding teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5, if applicable).
- Monitor student progress and implement interventions to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support whole-school improvement and literacy initiatives.

- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a strong background in teaching English at secondary level.
- Proven leadership experience or the readiness to step into a leadership role.
