Red Sky is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced General Manager to lead operations at Bristol Airport. The role requires a strong, strategic leader with a minimum of 5 years of people management experience at General Manager level, ideally in a high-pressure, customer-focused environment.
Role Purpose
To oversee the effective and profitable delivery of services at Bristol Airport, with a focus on customer excellence and strong operational control. The General Manager will lead both PRM and Cobus operations in line with strategic business objectives, maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all service level agreements and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational
- Provide 24/7 support for operational issues and ensure effective shift cover.
- Maintain service quality, staffing, and company image.
- Handle complaints, ensure equipment readiness, and remain proficient in key systems (AvTech, Power BI, MS Office).
- Engagement
- Foster strong relationships with airlines, partners, and stakeholders.
- Attend key meetings and maintain open, effective communication across the airport.
- Reporting
- Deliver clear weekly/monthly reports on operations, complaints, performance, and incidents.
- Provide CAA/ECAC data and analyse service issues through Power BI.
- Processes & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all airport protocols, safety regulations, and internal procedures.
- Oversee audits, servicing, and incident reporting.
- People Management
- Lead and support a large team with a focus on performance, attendance, and development.
- Manage rosters, absences, and maintain a structured meeting rhythm.
- Health & Safety
- Promote and maintain high health and safety standards.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, escalate risks, and support investigations and training compliance.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of senior-level people management, ideally in aviation or a similar operational environment.
- Minimum 2 years in a management role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Must pass a DBS check and provide 5 years of referencing.
