We are proud to be working exclusively on a rare and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for small animal orthopaedics and pain management. This role offers the chance to work in a specialist, referral-only environment without the pressures of emergency, weekend, or out-of-hours work.
About the Role:
This is a Monday to Friday role focused entirely on elective musculoskeletal care, offering a well-structured and predictable clinical week. Mornings are dedicated to joint and epidural injections—all elective and performed in a calm, supportive setting. Afternoons include either first consultations (1 hour) or follow-up reviews (30 minutes). Many clients are self-referrals, having found the service via word-of-mouth, physiotherapists, or colleagues. Formal veterinary referral is required for all treatment. You’ll provide a detailed report and recommendations after each consult, which may include further interventions or therapeutic planning. There is a growing caseload of primary referrals from veterinary surgeons, with strong repeat referral relationships built on clinical results and communication. Review consultations typically assess response to therapy or monitor clinical progression, supporting long-term care and outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in orthopaedics, pain management, or musculoskeletal medicine.
- Experience in performing or supporting joint/epidural injections is ideal, though training is available.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making.
- Someone who thrives in a structured, non-emergency setting focused on patient outcomes and client trust.
