Regardless of your needs, we at Targus are devoted to providing only the best product for our clientele.This role is for a Fixed Term Contract for 6 – 9 months.Job Purpose:The Logistics Planner is responsible for the co-ordination and execution of inbound & outbound freight & logistics services for the EMEA region as well as tracking and administrative control of Logistics & Operations costs.Position Context:Reporting to Logistics & Planning Manager the Logistics Planner serves internal customers such as the Supply Team, Customer Service, Availability to Promise (ATP), Sales and Finance to ensure effective coordination and execution of inbound and outbound shipments by working effectively with Product Suppliers, Freight Forwarders and 3PL partners.The Logistics Planner must be highly focused and service orientated delivering results through development and adherence to robust processes and cost controlKey Stakeholders3PL, Freight Forwarders & Operational SuppliersCustomer Service TeamFinance TeamSupply Planning TeamDirector of OperationsSales TeamResponsibilities and Accountability:Inbound Logistics ActivitiesOrganisation and coordination of the weekly inbound freight with Freight Forwarder & 3PL teams for Branded & OEM warehousesAlign weekly with Planning & ATP on Inbound priorities for Branded stock and OEM stockCoordinate with freight forwarders and suppliers to ensure accuracy & timeliness of shipping documentsMaintain & develop existing reports to monitor and track all inbound shipments, intervening promptly and effectively to manage any delays that impact stock availabilityUpdate and maintain shipment data in Targusโ€™ systems for all inbound shipments.Ensure accurate receipt of stock into the Targus systemManage ad-hoc freight quotations & approval processSupport the Supply Team to resolve bookings/shipment issues with the Freight Forwarder when necessaryFind, present and coordinate alternative Inbound transport solutions when necessaryProviding monthly container forecast per Port of Loading to Freight Forwarder (6 weeks in advance)Outbound & Other Logistics ActivitiesManage the VMI outbound order invoicing for OEM customers and associated reportingRaise claims for all outbound carrier delivery discrepancies, escalating to insurance if necessaryManagement of day-to-day e-commerce activitiesProcessing and coordinating invoicing of OEM SamplesCoordination and execution of product customisation (logo) projects from initial quote to delivery to end userPrepare and present KPI performance reports for LogisticsCover for ATPOther ad-hoc logistics-related tasks as requiredCost Control ActivitiesMonitor and report sea freight rates for Inbound and OutboundValidate freight forwarder, 3PL and other service providers invoicesRaise POโ€™s to ensure payment of Operational Suppliers to meet business timelinesMonitor and track invoices against Logistics budget and ensure communication of forecasted costs to finance for relevant accrualsInventory Management ActivitiesFacilitate stock transfers between warehouses as requiredExecute rework activities by agreeing on price and timelines with 3PLArrange stock for rework and bundlingEnsure all inbound stock has been booked onto the ERP system to ensure it is immediately available for order generationPerson Specification:Education, Experience & SkillsetsDegree level or equivalent logistics qualificationMinimum 3 yearsโ€™ experience in a relevant logistics/supply chain roleIntermediate level Excel skills minimum, advanced preferredStrong knowledge of Sea & Air Freight shipping processes & Freight Forward managementWorking knowledge of Incoterms, HS Codes and duty rates is desirable.Core Competencies & MindsetStrong organisation, time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essentialHigh initiative, self-motivated team player with insatiable desire for continuous improvementExcellent communication skills โ€“ ability to produce concise detailed reports to a high standard of accuracyHighly numerate, analytical & strong attention to detailResults-focused โ€“ Gets things done!Great sense of humour and desire to have fun while delivering resultsAt Targus we are an equal opportunity workplace.
