My client is looking for a front of house Receptionist to join this prestigious hospitality establishment, located in Rye. Possible live-in accommodation is available for this role.

The purpose of the role as a Receptionist is to provide a friendly, hospitable and efficient service, ensuring that excellent customer service is provided at all times, to ensure a lasting impression to all guests. Shift work is involved to include early/late cover.

As a Receptionist, the ideal candidate will have some experience of using 'Opera' PMS. An example of duties consists of:

  • Being in a customer-facing role, being an engaging person with a friendly manner who thrives in a busy environment
  • Guest check-in and check-out
  • Assisting customers with luggage and taking them to rooms if they need this help or organising for this to be done
  • Answering guests' queries before they arrive and when they arrive
  • Greeting walk-in potential customers for bedrooms and the bar/restaurant
  • Answering phones and responding to emails quickly and efficiently
  • Taking bookings on the phone and via computer, upselling to maximise sales
  • Complaint handling in a calm manner and addressing these if you can or getting assistance from the manager on duty
  • Seeking a team player who can and will be happy to assist wherever needed at times and also be able to work on your own at times

The salary for the role of Receptionist is given as £12.21 per hour plus some tronc in addition. There is the possibility of live-in accommodation with this role which is deductible from salary. If you live outside the local Rye area, transport will be desirable to give more flexibility for the required shift work demands of this hands-on role.
