Position Summary: We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Workforce Manager to oversee workforce planning and labor optimization across our logistics operations, based in our Luton location. This role will be instrumental in ensuring staffing levels align with operational demand while maintaining high service levels, cost efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce Planning & Forecasting: Analyze historical data and operational trends to forecast short- and long-term labor needs. Collaborate with operations and HR teams to develop shift schedules, headcount plans, and hiring targets.
- Scheduling & Optimization: Create and manage efficient employee rosters across multiple sites or warehouses. Monitor real-time attendance and workforce utilization, adjusting resources as needed to meet service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Performance Management: Track key workforce metrics such as productivity, absenteeism, and turnover rates. Recommend and implement strategies to enhance workforce performance and reduce overtime or idle time.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, recruitment, training, and finance teams to align labor resources with business objectives. Support onboarding and cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility.
- Systems & Tools: Utilize workforce management systems (WMS/WFM software) and data analytics tools to streamline scheduling and reporting. Lead or support automation and digital transformation initiatives related to workforce operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Human Resources, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in workforce management, preferably in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills; proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with workforce planning software (e.g., Kronos, Reflexis, Workday, Blue Yonder).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an e-commerce or high-growth logistics environment.
- Knowledge of labor laws and compliance practices related to shift scheduling and employee contracts.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
