The predicted salary is between 27000 - 29000 £ per year.
The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £12.96 - £13.78. This is a 39-week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.
Days and hours of work: Tuesday & Wednesday, 09:30-14:30; Thursday, 09:00-14:30. Days of working are negotiable, and starting and finishing times are flexible. To start 13th August 2025.
We are looking for a flexible Classroom Assistant to join our team to support pupils and teachers within the class. You may be required to support small groups of pupils out of class and the expectation is to also support in the playground.
Loretto RC Primary is a medium sized denominational primary school with a nursery class, centrally located in Musselburgh. We consider ourselves to be a God's family school and celebrate the diversity of our school community. Our friendly staff team is small and comprises of teachers, early years practitioners, support staff, catering, cleaning and janitorial staff. We work flexibly and closely together for the benefit of our pupils and parents.
To support the quality of teaching and learning to pupils and assist in the promotion of pupil development through support and involvement in learning activities.

- Good standard of general education.
- SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.
- This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
- All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
