Soho Farmhouse is a destination for food and drink, wellness and outdoor activities. Two hours' drive or a short train from London, we have 114 bedrooms, including cabins, huts and farmhouse bedrooms to stay in, a state-of-the-art gym, Cowshed Spa, an indoor and outdoor pool and cinema. We have multiple food and beverage outlets on site, The Main Barn is the central hub, serving the club menu all day. On the mezzanine, Comfy Farm has sofas and an open fire place, while Fancy Farm is a more formal setting for lunch or dinner. There is also Pen Yen for Japanese izakaya-style dishes from the robata grill, bind and sashimi, and Blake's Kitchen for fresh bread, sausage rolls and cinnamon buns. Finally, there is The Little Bell, a local favourite, for nose-to-tail cooking and natural wine.
The Role...
The Restaurant General Manager will ensure that their restaurant provides a safe, secure, inclusive and transparent environment for all members, guests and team members at all times. The Restaurant General Manager is ultimately responsible for the day to day running of the restaurant, financial performance and member satisfaction. The role requires the ability to demonstrate a professional approach, working with a range of managers both within the site as well as support teams including finance, people, membership and health and safety.
Main Duties...
- Deliver Great Service: Make sure food, drinks, and service always meet Soho House standards and train the team to keep it consistent.
- Run a Smooth Operation: Keep the restaurant well-stocked, set up, and staffed each day, and stick to budgets for sales, costs, and labour.
- Build a Strong Team: Create a happy, high-performing team by supporting development, hitting recruitment goals, and completing all staff reviews.
- Drive Business Performance: Hit monthly targets and make the most of seasonal events and key dates to grow the business.
- Lead and Set Goals: Work with managers to set clear goals for people, product, and performance, and make sure everyone is accountable.
- Focus on the Guest Experience: Keep guests at the heart of everything-aim for high service scores and maintain great standards every day.
- Promote a Respectful Culture: Support inclusivity training, call out poor behaviour, and make sure everyone follows the Soho House Pledge.
- Stay Safe and Compliant: Make sure health and safety rules are followed, audits are passed, and all training is up to date.
- Take Ownership: Work with other teams on projects, maintenance and fix issues quickly, and take pride in your space.
- Lead the Team: Manage the restaurant team, report to the F&B lead or Director, and keep everything running in line with company goals.
What we are looking for...
- Proven work experience as a Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
- Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and Micro.
- Strong attention to details.
- Excellent customer service.
- Fluent in English.
- Organised and reliable.
- Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team.
- Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous.
Expected working hours for a Restaurant General Manager: Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes. Average hours 45 hours per week. Subsidised transport rate offered from: Chipping Norton (OX7) & Banbury (OX15 & OX16).
