Huyton, Knowsley

16/06/2025 – 3 months initially

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 36 hrs/week

Direct work with children, young people and families.

Act as the lead professional and be the main contact for the family.

Deliver targeted and co-ordinated interventions to families with children 0-18 years displaying a range of complex needs. These will include:

  • Effective parenting skills
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Family dynamics
  • Emotional health and well-being
  • Sexual health and self-esteem

Support to achieve better outcomes including improved school attendance and tackle issues such as truancy and exclusion, reduce risk-taking behaviour including crime, anti-social behaviour and improve employability.

Complete Early Help Assessments and SMART plans with families and then review.

Complete home visits.

Engage with families using all options available to ensure that their needs are met.

Reducing the likelihood of escalation to high-cost, statutory, crisis intervention services such as Children’s Social Care.

Organise Team Around the Family Meetings.

Keep and maintain accurate records of work.

Requirements:

  • Experience of case management including undertaking whole family assessments to identify risk and need.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key policy drivers and recent reports addressing early intervention and prevention with young people and families with multiple needs.
  • Experience of working with children and families to deliver preventative interventions to tackle issues such as school readiness, youth crime/anti-social behaviour, educational failure, emotional/sexual health on a one to one and/or group basis.
  • Experience completing Early Help Assessments and SMART plans.
  • Child DBS registered to the update service.
