We are currently recruiting for a company within the Transport sector for the role of Principal Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation leading a major government-backed infrastructure project. Our client delivers transformative rail links that connect communities and drive economic growth.

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid
  • Package: £85,000 + Excellent Benefits
  • Industry: Public Sector / Transport

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the successful delivery of the Development Consent Order (DCO), securing all required land access and acquisition rights
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement, managing consultations with landowners and their representatives to ensure cooperation and timely resolution of issues
  • Manage external suppliers and consultants, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and governance standards; implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain delivery performance

Main Skills/Requirements:

  • Proven experience in linear infrastructure projects (e.g. motorways, railways, runways)
  • Background in working within or alongside the public sector
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate with third-party stakeholders
  • Strong understanding and application of Compulsory Purchase Orders
  • Chartered Surveyor qualification is highly desirable
