Gardener (3.5t Driver)

Salary £13.85 per hour
Hours 40 hours per week, 7.30am to 3.30pm
Location Waltham Forest, E10 7AS

As a Gardener (3.5t Driver) at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the general maintenance of the grounds and parks. You will carry out a variety of horticultural tasks and operate light machinery to maintain high standards across our sites.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working over 5 days a week.

What will you be doing?

– Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, bed preparation, and planting
– Lawn maintenance and cultivation
– Use and maintenance of hand tools and light machinery (mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers)
– Checking oil levels and performing equipment safety checks
– Gritting, salt spreading, and snow clearing as required
– Marking and preparing sports pitches and field event areas
– Leaf clearance during November to March across parks, cemeteries, and roads
– Maintaining cleanliness of tool sheds and mess rooms
– Assisting in the erection and dismantling of sports equipment

What are we looking for?

– Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
– A team player with good communication skills
– Ability to work safely and follow procedures
– Full UK driving licence
– PA1 and PA6 spraying licences (desirable)
