The role and what you'll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:
Are you a seasoned infrastructure professional ready to take on complex challenges and help shape the future of IT operations? At Littlefish, we're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Nottingham. In this role, you'll be a key technical expert, working on high-priority tickets, leading the resolution of major incidents, and guiding our approach to new technologies. You'll collaborate with engineers across the business, mentor others, and play a vital role in maintaining and evolving our infrastructure services.
You will be:
- Resolving complex or sensitive technical issues
- Acting as a technical escalation point and subject matter expert
- Supporting major incident investigations and recovery
- Leading technical input on change approvals and best practices
- Delivering technical projects and onboarding new customers
- Identifying and deploying automation opportunities
- Reviewing major incident reports and ensuring SLA compliance
Who you are:
- Extensive experience in a similar infrastructure role
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, networking, and backup technologies
- Knowledge of Office 365, Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, and PowerShell
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to mentor others
- Relevant certifications (e.g. MCSE, VCP, CCNA) or equivalent experience
Desirable skills:
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
- Knowledge of cloud security and SaaS/PaaS integrations
