The role

As an Account Director in our Paid Search team, you’ll play a critical role in leading some of our key client accounts, developing strategic roadmaps, and guiding client teams to deliver best-in-class work. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines client ownership, cross-team collaboration, and team development. You’ll take full accountability for the performance of your client accounts — from shaping annual and quarterly roadmaps to managing senior stakeholder relationships and ensuring projects are delivered to a consistently high standard. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for ensuring teams are properly briefed, work is correctly delegated, and client expectations are being met — both strategically and commercially. Beyond client delivery, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with our data and product teams to scope out new initiatives, test pilot ideas and continually evolve how we deliver value for clients. You’ll also play a key role in the growth of your team — leading onboarding, providing pastoral care, and developing your Account Managers into the next generation of agency leadership. This role offers the chance to operate across both client delivery and internal agency projects — whether through owning specific client initiatives or contributing to WeDiscover’s broader marketing efforts and external presence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading client accounts, owning performance and delivery of Paid Search strategy and projects
  • Shaping and delivering client roadmaps that balance long-term strategic goals with day-to-day execution
  • Building and maintaining strong senior client relationships, ensuring clear communication and ongoing feedback
  • Managing client meetings and leading account teams to ensure projects run smoothly and deliver value
  • Delegating and coordinating work across your account teams, ensuring accountability and transparency across all deliverables
  • Working closely with internal teams — including Data, Product, and other Paid Media specialists — to drive cross-departmental initiatives
  • Helping scope, test and pilot new product ideas that further enhance our client offering
  • Taking responsibility for commercial delivery: ensuring work remains within scope, managing out-of-scope requests and maintaining clear commercial accountability
  • Providing line management, pastoral care and development support for 2+ Account Managers — including onboarding, training and career development

  • An excellent understanding of how Paid Search integrates with data, measurement and broader marketing performance
  • Comfortable managing client delivery across all aspects — from analysis and reporting to communication, presentation and account management
  • A strong process mindset — able to identify opportunities to improve delivery consistency, streamline operations and implement new ways of working
  • Confident people manager, with the ability to give constructive feedback, build development plans and support team progression
  • Capable of leading internal projects, representing WeDiscover externally, and contributing to the agency’s broader growth
