Here at KDC we are looking for a skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced avionics solutions across UK defence aerospace platforms. This role focuses on the full lifecycle of systems development, with particular emphasis on systems architecture, integration, and safety hazard analysis.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and define avionics systems architectures, functions, and interfaces for military aircraft platforms.
- Define system and sub-system level requirements and ensure traceability through the design development and verification lifecycle.
- Conduct comprehensive safety analyses in line with Def Stan 00-056 and MIL-STD-882, including:
- Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA)
- Preliminary and System Hazard Analyses (PHA/SHA)
- Fault Tree Analyses (FTA)
- Failure Modes and Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Essential skills and experience:
- Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Systems / Electrical Engineering, or demonstrable relevant experience in lieu thereof.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in avionics systems development within the UK defence or aerospace sector with particular relevance to Radar, IFF or FLIR based systems.
- Proven experience with system safety engineering following Def Stan 00-056 / MIL-STD-882.
